Stacking the Shelves | #24

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click here to go to Tyngas blog.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda / Becky Albertalli / Pivot Point / Kasie West / And Then There Were None / Agatha Christie / The Murder Complex / Lindsay Cummings / Defy the Stars / Claudia Gray

I see a similar theme in these eBook covers. I have already finished Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and it was SO good. It actually made me cry. I downloaded Pivot Point because I’ve been hearing that Kasie West’s books are hit or miss with people but this novel seems completely different than the others so we’ll see how I fare with this one. I’ve been wanting to read Agatha Christie for a while now and And Then There Were None just automatically downloaded to my virtual bookshelf. I’m excited to read it. I haven’t read a mystery in a while. The Murder Complex is an interesting concept and I thought I would give this author’s writing another shot. She co-wrote Zenith which part 1 was released last year before they got a publisher and scrapped the releasing parts idea. I did not like it at all but I will see how she is on her own. Lastly, I was recommended Defy the Stars and also recently read a post about it and luckily enough it was available for download at the library. I liked her other trilogy about the multiverse so hopefully this one is just as good.

From a Friend

The Second Sister / Claire Kendal

Friend of mine sent this my way and I can’t wait to start it. If you’re reading this Deanna “Hiii!!! Merci beaucoup!”

Won in a Giveaway

Bellevue Square / Michael Redhill

My first giveaway win!!! And it’s set in Toronto so I know exactly where it is taking place. AND it’s about dopplegangers.

Asylum / Madeline Roux

Should’ve probably saved this series for October but it’s Halloween season soon which is my favourite holiday ever so I couldn’t resist. It’s a YA paranormal book about these kids at a college camp but the dorms are in an old psych hospital. A bit juvenile but still a little creepy.

Wow, I’ve been accumulating a lot for these Stacking the Shelves posts each week. What have you been adding to your shelves recently? Have you read any that I’ve posted above?

I read And Then There Were None last year and loved it. I think it is a great introduction if you are new to Agatha Christie. I hope you enjoy it and the rest of your stack. Have a great weekend!

I haven’t read Christie in years. I really should pick something of hers up again at some point.

  4. I remember reading The Murder Complex years ago! It was super hyped, though at the time I didn’t know much about it. I read an early copy and… meh. I didn’t like it. I heard the sequel was worse, though I didn’t bother reading it. But that’s okay, I may try Zenith. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Danica. =)
