Review: This is a book that you have to go in blind for. That’s what everyone says and they are right. Before I began writing this I wanted to see what my mutual friends on Goodreads had said about this book. I feel like I am the only one that didn’t predict it and didn’t get the clue in the title! Sometimes I like my brain when it is completely oblivious to things because I was actually SHOCKED at how the story panned out. I was getting an inkling as it was nearing the end but I am so glad that my brain didn’t figure it out. I also felt this pit of strong emotions as everything was revealing itself. Not enough for them to fully come to fruition but I felt them there!
I currently have this as a 4.5 stars as that is my feeling after literally finishing this book only twenty minutes ago. I docked half a star as I found it to be a little unrealistic about how the situation was handled, I didn’t like the younger children always being referred to as “littles” it was ugh, and hearing the “woe is me” coming from rich people who live on an island in the summer was eye rolling. I may bring it down a notch later I may not but this is currently how I feel about it. I’m glad I read it after the hype died down. Highly enjoyable and recommend if you want a quick read.
