It’s a new year! Let’s set some reading and blogging goals for 2017!
READING GOALS
2017 Goodreads Challenge : to read 60 books in 2017
Since 2014 I’ve been setting myself a goal on Goodreads and as the years progress I’ve slowly added more each year. I’ve managed to meet my goals except for 2015 I believe! It’s such a great website to track your reading and exploring different genres.
2017 Diverse Reads : to encourage & support diverse authors, characters, ethnicities, cultures, religions and disabilities
2017 is the year of the diverse reading. I’m tired of reading cookie cutter books. I want to learn. I found this year long challenge while on Twitter (the hashtag is #diversereads2017) and came across the blog that started this. Not only is everyone on Twitter giving fantastic suggestions but the blog also created a 16 page reading list of a bunch of books that fit the monthly topics. I encourage you all to join along with me!
To Read All the Books On My Shelves : 0 TBR
I want to try and read all the books that are on my shelves. I no longer aspire (unsure if this is the right word) to have multiple gigantic bookshelves filled with books that I haven’t read. I want to have a few with the good ones.
Less YA and More Adult Fiction
Again, I want to expand my horizons. I’m not giving up YA all together. I’m just setting it aside for a while.
BLOGGING GOALS

- To post at least 2 times a week
- To engage and comment on more blogs
- To host a giveaway

2017 is going to be a good year… I can feel it!

These are great reading goals!
I also am going to add a bit more Adult Fiction to my reading this year. I used to only read classics and adult fiction, until I read Harry Potter (as an adult). I had never read anything like it and fell head over heals for youthful fantasy adventures. But last yr, I found some very readers on Booktube, who introduced me to some contemporary works full of harship and overcoming, that have sparked my long lost love for deep meaningful human content.
I loo forward to hearing about what you have found and enjoyed in this new reading journey.
Happy Reading!
