Welcome to Day 6 of 24 Days of Shelves of Spines!
Today I decided to do a Book Tag! This book tag was created by GirlReading.
Q1: E-book of physical copy?
I prefer physical copies of books. Especially paperbacks. They’re just easy to handle and I like turning the pages. However, e-books are great if you don’t have space in your bag to bring more than 1 book.
Q2: Paperback or Hardcover?
Oops, I answered that above. Paperback! Although the hardcovers are more appealing to the eye when on the shelf, paperbacks are cheaper, easier to read and take up less space.
Q3: Online or Instore Book Shopping?
Online! As much fun as it is to roam a bookstore, you can find better deals for books online!
Q4: Trilogies or Series?
I don’t have a preference. As long as they are done right I don’t mind reading them.
Q5: Heroes or Villains?
Villains are always more fun to read. I feel like a lot of authors make there villains likeable too so you’re torn when you are kind of rooting for the bad guy.
Q6: A book you want everyone to read?
Q7: Recommend an underrated book?
I can’t really think of an underrated book. House of Leaves?
Q8: The Last Book You Finished?
The German Girl by Armando Lucas Correa. It was SO good.
Q9: The Last Book You Bought?
My Best Friends Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. It was a good read for before Halloween.
Q10: Weirdest Thing You Used as a Bookmark?
Anything that’s nearby is a bookmark. Whether that be a candy cane wrapper, a receipt, clothing price tag, etc.
Q11: Used Books: Yes or No?
YES. Just because they’re a little worn around the edges doesn’t mean the content has changed.
Q12: Top 3 Favourite Genres?
Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, and Contemporary.
Q13: Borrow or Buy?
I like to buy. I don’t like time limits on when I have to return books. Although it would be more kind to my wallet.
Q14: Characters or Plot?
I always find myself more interested in the characters then the plot.
Q15: Long or Short Books?
Depends on the genre and my mood. Sometimes I’m in the mood to read a 900 page scifi novel and other times I just want a short 300 page contemporary.
Q16: Long or Short Chapters?
Doesn’t matter to me as long as the chapter break up makes sense.
Q17: Name the First 3 Books You Can Think Of?
1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, Night Film by Marisha Pessl and Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas.
Q18: Books That Make You Laugh or Cry?
I like books that make me cry because its very hard to do so. With movies it’s easy because it’s right there in front of you but, with literature it’s harder as you have to create the visuals in your head. So when books make me well up the author has done a fantastic job.
Q19: Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Fictional worlds are great. But fantastical things happening in our world is better.
Q20: Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Yes! Perfect for when you’re doing homework, assignments and cleaning the house.
Q21: Do You Ever Judge a Book By Its Cover?
Guilty. But sometimes I find books I never would have picked up otherwise if the cover hadn’t drawn me in.
Q22: Book to Movie or Book to TV adaptations?
I prefer TV. I feel like you’re getting more out of it. Plus, they don’t have like a 2 hour time limit to cram everything in so no details are left out.
Q23: A Movie or TV show you Preferred Over the Book?
I can’t think of one. I always like the book version better.
Q24: Series or Standalones?
I like both. I prefer series for dystopian/scifi novels and standalones for historical fiction/contemporary.
I wasn’t expecting 24 questions when I started this tag and it took a lot longer than expected. I’m curious to know your answers to come of these questions. Comment down below!
