Friday Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader and the Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice.
So Friday Book Beginnings you choose the book you are currently reading or the one that is closest to you and share the first few sentences. For the Friday 56 you simply turn to page 56 or 56% on your e-reader and share a sentence or two that you enjoy. Then just add maybe a synopsis about the book in case others are interested. That’s it!
Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven
Published on: December 23rd, 2014
Synopsis: When Cassie Taylor met Ethan Holt at acting school, sparks flew. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy about campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing, Cassie and Ethan’s romance seemed destined. Until he broke her heart and betrayed her trust. Now the A-list heartthrob is back in her life and turning her world around. One touch at a time.
Cast as romantic leads once again, they’re forced to confront raw memories of the heartbreaking lows and pulse-pounding highs of their secret college affair. But they’ll also discover that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks.
Beginning: I rush down the crowded sidewalk, and a nervous sweat has broken out in all my most glamorous places. I hear my mother’s voice inside my head – “A lady doesn’t sweat, Cassie. She glows.” In that case, Mom, I’m glowing like a pig.
Page 56: “Fuck Taylor. For the love of God, stop, before I do something really fucking stupid.” His hands are on my hips, trying to move me. I move but not off of him. I press down. I feel him against me.
What do you think? I like the voice of the opening. Looks like it’ll have me laughing. Also looks like there is going to be some steamy scenes. Can’t wait to pick this up down the road.
The opening made me laugh too. This sounds like a great romance. I have a thriller this week – The Damascus Thread by Matt Rees. Happy reading!

Love the BB, but the 56 tells me it's not a book for me. I don't care for “language” in my reads. I hope you and your readers will check out mine… http://tinyurl.com/LisaKsBookReviewsTGWIK

That's definitely a really good beginning. She's very incredulous in that excerpt and I love it.
