Review: I was excited to find out that there were two other books in the Miss Peregrine world. I loved how the first story had the accompanying vintage photographs to bring the story together. It had been a while since I had read the first one but it did not take long to familiarize myself as I picked up this one as it takes place right where it left off.

The Characters – I love how each of the children has there own quirk/ability and use them to protect one another. I don’t really get the romance between Emma and Jacob, it’s a little odd in my opinion and if that aspect wasn’t in the book it wouldn’t change much. I feel like this story doesn’t need that romantic aspect. There are some new characters added as well. I was wondering if we were going to meet the girl that’s on the front cover – and you do!

The Plot – It starts off a little slow but then sucks you in to this action-packed adventure trying to find someone who can help save Miss Peregrine. I love how it visits other loops and you get introduced to some new quirky characters. The plot twist at the end was fantastic! I did not see it coming!

The photographs add such a neat aspect to the story telling and I am always excited when I see that one is coming up. I read in the back interview that he finds these photographs and incorporates them in. Sometimes he adds a scene just so he can use them. I find that really cool and probably a helpful tool when writing these novels.

Can’t wait to get my hands on the third one! I hope there is a paperback version out so I can match the rest of the series!
