Page 56: I positioned my mother’s body so that, standing three steps down into the basement, I could grab her around the shoulders and, walking blind and feeling for each stair with my foot, could use my body to keep her from tumbling into no-man’s land below.
Thoughts: I read this book years ago. The opening line is great and definitely draws you in. I remember feeling too young while reading this but I may enjoy it now that I’m older. It’s a very dark tale and goes to strange places.

That opening sentence is definitely a grabber! I enjoy stories about older women, and this sounds like a good one.

So she tends to her, makes sure she doesn't fall down the stairs, but killing comes easily. Wow. Eye opening when you put them together… lol

I haven't heard of this until now! You are completely right when you say that the first sentence really draws you in! I don't know if I'll like it though, just because it seems so dark and morbid. Here is my Friday 56 for this week! Happy reading!
