Musing Mondays is a weekly meme that asks you to choose a prompt to answer.
I barely blogged this week. It was the dreaded finals week so I was swamped with studying all hours of the day. I did however manage to read and finish one book when I was commuting to and from the school. That book was The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi that comes out on the 26th of this month! I have to say that it might be my favourite read of 2016 it was that good and I think everyone needs to read it. I wrote a review about it here.
This week random question: Least favourite plot device that is used in books that you enjoy otherwise.
The plot device that I think is over done in a lot of the novels is two best friends. The main character is shy, intelligent and reserved. Her best friend however is quirky, less intelligent, loud and outgoing. The only reason the MC gets into “trouble” is because she listened to her friend and that’s sometimes how the plot unfolds.
There’s also a line in books that is used way to often, its “I let go of a breath I didn’t know I was holding.” I promise you that now you’re aware of it you’ll see it everywhere!
