Friday Book Beginnings is hosted by Rose City Reader and the Friday 56 is hosted by Freda’s Voice.
So Friday Book Beginnings you choose the book you are currently reading or the one that is closest to you and share the first few sentences. For the Friday 56 you simply turn to page 56 or 56% on your e-reader and share a sentence or two that you enjoy. Then just add maybe a synopsis about the book in case others are interested. That’s it!

Horrified at the prospect of housing a convicted murderer, the family at first avoids Agnes. Only Tóti, a priest Agnes has mysteriously chosen to be her spiritual guardian, seeks to understand her. But as Agnes’s death looms, the farmer’s wife and their daughters learn there is another side to the sensational story they’ve heard.
Riveting and rich with lyricism, BURIAL RITES evokes a dramatic existence in a distant time and place, and asks the question, how can one woman hope to endure when her life depends upon the stories told by others?
This one does sound intriguing. This week I'm spotlighting The Obsession by Nora Roberts. Happy reading!

I have been wanting to read Burial Rites as it sounds like “on the edge of seat read”. Hopefully the fabulous opening line will not disappoint!

I love the idea of a book set in Iceland – especially a mystery! I love when a book takes place somewhere that's special to me. It makes reading the book even better!

This sounds interesting but I'll be honest and state up front that if she dies after I've invested time in getting to know her and like her – that would make me really angry and never want to read the author again…lol…so I would have to know that the ending is one that I would be okay with….Thanks for visiting my Friday meme
