Top 5 Wednesday is a group on Goodreads created by Lainey which posts “book memes” to be completed each month. The topics for each current month are posted within that group. In 2015 2016 I am trying to add more content other than book reviews so each Wednesday I am going to try to post each Wednesday. It depends on the subject matter of that week or the work load from college.
Furthermore, here is this weeks topic: Favourite Fandoms (Books, TV, Movies, etc…)
1. Outlander

Not just the TV show but the books as well. When the TV series was coming out there was a lot of hype around it. I usually try to read the books first so I purchased the first (seven) books. It took me maybe a week to get through “Outlander” and I am currently halfway through “Dragonfly in Amber”. Diana Gabaldon’s portrayal of Scotland during that time period is fantastic and the characters are really well formed. The actors that portray them in the television show aren’t too bad either….
2. Hunger Games

Again, not just the movies but the books as well. Suzanne Collins has written such a beautiful trilogy and the cast is just as fantastic. I am not going to lie I was quite obsessed with this fandom and I am really sad that it is all over now with the movies. I met so many fantastic people on Tumblr through this fandom and cherish the ones I still keep in contact with. I definitely think this is a book that will be taught in schools later. Just like 1984 was taught when I was in high school.
3. Doctor Who

If you know me in real life you know how obsessed I am with Doctor Who. I actually have a TARDIS tattooed on the back of my neck. The bulk of my Christmas presents this year were Doctor Who themed. And the Christmas episode this year was top notch. I just can’t get enough of this show and I hope it never discontinues.
4. Colleen Hoover Fandom (Hooverites?… I’m making this up)

Have you ever read a book by Colleen Hoover? If not… I suggest you do so. Every time one of her novels comes out I have to read it within the first week. The ideas are just so bizarre and heart wrenching that I usually end up crying at some point but also laughing out loud.
5. Twenty One Pilots
Watch this and tell me it is not your jam. I love their music so much and I am excited to see them for the second time this summer. Can liking a band be a fandom thing or… ?
